I’d like to take a moment to recognize the outstanding efforts of the first person ever to bake a pie. Whoever you may be, I owe you a debt of gratitude. Not only I, but Americans everywhere, thank you. Where would we be today, if we couldn’t use the expressions, “American as apple pie”, “easy as pie”, or “Let’s sit down and have some pie.” We’d be pie-less, that’s where we’d be.
